I made this sculpture using cardboard packing material, painted lacquered.and (accidentally) burned on one side. Rather than discard the damaged piece, I painted and applied a metal grid to cover the burnt section inspired by the Grenfell Tower tragedy ithe year before.

Having painted and lacquered this piece of packing material, I applied on one side an English translation of text taken from the Bhuddist 'Great Prajnya Paramita Sutra' using lengths of transparent electronic typewriter correcting tape. On the other side is handwritten a phonetic version of the original chant, which provided me with comfort during a time of suffering.
