A view from the ramparts of the Iron Age hillfort, using metallic acrylics juxtaposed with matt colours. One of a series of semi-abstract, stylised interpretations of local landmarks, in which I express the essence of the place by playing freely with colour, curve, and contour line. The design continues around the edges of the deep-edge canvas. I painted ‘Cadbury Castle’ on a reclaimed canvas bought for 10p in a jumble sale. You can see the ghostly impressions of the original abstract painting showing through!

A view of the iconic tower on the Bruton skyline, using a predominantly cool colour palette.
