Closely observed painting of disguarded rubbish in a hedgerow during the winter lockdown of 2021. There is an irony in the proudly displayed jingoism on the plastic packaging of bread rolls nestling in the rural context of a public footpath in a field. It raises many issues related to the state of society and our approach to our environment.

Close observation painting of a disguarded cider can found in the hedgerow down the footpath near my home during the winter lock down of 2021. Further along this path are rich pickings of blackberries during late summer which ironically is the flavour of the cider! This was just one of many pieces of food related litter I collected along this path during this period after photographing them in situ to inform paintings.
